Louise-Ann (nee Ogden) was born in
Montreal, moved to Kingston ON then to Prince Albert SK, where she was raised. She attended Connaught and
King George Public Schools, then Prince Albert Technical High School.
She earned business certificates at New Brunswick Community College
in Moncton and Algonquin College in Ottawa. In Canada she worked in
sales, book keeping and office management.
Maurice was born and raised in Prince
Albert SK where he attended Queen Mary School then Riverside
Collegiate. He attended college at the Saskatchewan Technical
Institute in Moose Jaw, where he graduated in Electronics Engineering
Technology. He also holds diplomas in business management. He worked as a surveyor and draughtsman for the Saskatchewan Department of Highways, a Bombardier/Corporal in the Militia (army reserve) and a telecommunication regulatory
manager for the Canadian Government.
We were married in Prince Albert in
1971, and have lived in Winnipeg MB, Trois Rivieres PQ, Saskatoon SK, Moncton NB and Ottawa ON. We have two children, Kyle, who holds a
degree in journalism from Carleton University and Michelle, who holds
a masters of science in biology from McGill University. Both of our children are married
and each have a son, Samuel Lavictoir, (2002) and Grey Nunas (2009).
In 1993 we moved to Singapore, where
Maurice worked as a telecommunication lobbyist for Motorola and then ENRON. Louise-Ann worked as a
counsellor at the Canadian Education Centre, associated with the
Canadian High Commission.
While working in Singapore, we bought a
48-foot trawler yacht, aboard which we lived. When we retired in
2002 we sailed around SE Asia and Australasia for about five years.
When we sold the trawler, due to illness, we returned to Canada and
bought a 39-foot Winnebago “land yacht”, aboard which we explored much of
Canada and the USA. Nomads no more, we now live at Oliver BC, Canada.
