Greely (Ottawa) ON – Poplar Grove RV Campground Our RV was delivered to this campground. We stayed here from 26 September until we left on 26 October. Poplar Grove is an older, but lovely, RV park about 45 minutes drive from downtown Ottawa. Many of the sites are not too closely spaced and are in lovely wooded areas. There are nice trails to walk, a pool and a tennis court. It is far enough back from the highway to be quiet. It closes for the winter on 31 October and reopens 1 May.

Weedsport NY – Day's Inn – 26 October Because most campgrounds in New York close about 15 October we were not able to find a campground for the night. There is a large gravel parking area, frequented by semis, across the road from the Day's Inn, which might be usable as an overnight stop, but we took a room in the motel and just parked there.

Erie PA – Hill's Family Camp – 27 October An older but nice campground located well off the highway, making it quiet. The wi-fi does not cover the whole camp. There is cable TV, a game room, store, and a good laundry. It closes at the end of October.

Delaware OH – Cross Creek Camp Resort – 28 October for 2 nights A clean, up-scale RV resort with everything imaginable. It's well off the road and quiet. We would have stayed longer, but it was cold and windy.

Berea KY – Walnut Meadow RV Park – 30 October for 2 nights An old campground, but still in decent shape. It is at the side of a secondary highway, but not noisy. They have a meeting room where they hold weekly gospel concerts. We were lucky to catch the last performance of one of Americas foremost gospel song writers, performing his own work.

Kingston TN – Soaring Eagle RV Park – 1 November This is RV hell, right at the side of a busy highway. Too bad, as the facilities were otherwise reasonably nice, with a river and lots of places to walk in the woods.

Benton TN – Black Bear Cove Resort – 2 November for one week An upscale resort with a small associated campground alongside a major river. It is quiet and has a lovely restaurant. There are many places nearby to visit and drive.

Atlanta GA – Cummins Power South – 9 November for 2 nights, This is not a campground; we stopped here to have the RV serviced. They have four 50-amp electrical hook-ups for customer use. A very friendly and knowledgeable staff.

Forsyth GA – LD RV Park – 11 November for one week, A small and quiet RV park that caters to local seasonal Rvers, yet has some spots for itinerant use. There is not much around it-nowhere to go for long walks. It is only a few miles from good shopping and a large Camping World store is about an hour away.

Jennings FL – Jennings Outdoor Resort – 18 November for 2 nights, At the side of the Interstate and so a bit noisy, but otherwise a nice spot with lots of room to walk around.

Perry FL – Perry KOA, 4 December for 3 nights This is a nicely appointed RV park with the friendliest staff we've encountered to date. It is on a large property with ample room to roam around. In addition, on weekends they have free coffee and Belgian waffles...yum. Of course, while the free breakfast was fine, we were more interested in the people we met.

Milton FL – Milton Gulf Pines KOA, 7 December When we checked in we were served with the slowest, most pedantic person. She must have taken 10-minutes to check out the person before us and another ten to check us in. She was friendly and we were hopeful that the park would be good, especially when she mentioned the free continental breakfast every morning. Alas, it was noisy and, come morning, we found that the continental breakfast was a coffee urn and a basket with a few cellophane-wrapped pastries, on which was stuck a note that read, one per camper. There was nowhere to sit to consume these delectables.

Saucier MS – Lakeview RV Resort, 8 December for a week Lakeview is a fairly new park with nice concrete pads, next to a lake. It's quiet, but a bit austere. In time, if they plant a few trees, it will be really nice.

New Orleans LA – KOA West, 16 December for 11 days. This KOA's best feature is its proximity to the French Quarter, only about a half-hour ride. This is enhanced by a free shuttle service, complete with narrative. It's reasonably quiet, except for train whistles. There is no sense of community in the park; it's just a good place to park and see NOLA.

Westlake LA – Whispering Meadow RV Park This is a nice park in a quiet location well north of the I-10. They have new concrete pads, a club house and mostly cater to long term residents. Nice people.

San Antonio TX – Texas 281 RV Park, 28 December for one week. Texas 281 is a good value just off US-281, in Bulverde, a small town half an hour north of downtown San Antonio. It's well treed and has a nice community spirit.

Fort Stockton TX – Ft. Stockton RV Park (no web site), 4 January for 2 nights, This is a nice RV park well back from the highway, so it's quiet. This is the first RV park that we stayed at with an integral café, albeit with a very limited menu and hours. They open for breakfast and dinner and serve only a few items, all deliciously home cooked. We recommend the ribs...yum!

El Paso TX – Mission RV Park (www.missionrvparklp.com), 6 January, We chose this park thinking we'd stay a while and explore El Paso; the guide books list it as the best in the city area. While it looks good, it is right beside the I-10, behind a truck yard. It is a pity, as the facilities are good, including a club house, tennis court, basketball court, playground and on-site RV repair.

Lordsburg NM – Lordsburg KOA (www.koa.com/where/nm/31144), 7 January, We stopped only to rest; so there is not much to report. This is a clean, friendly RV park in a crummy neighbourhood. It has unusually large lots. Unlike most of the other parks we have encountered, there are few long-term residents. It was nearly empty when we arrived, filled up for overnight and was nearly empty by the time we left.

Phoenix AZ – Pioneer RV Resort (www.arizonarvresorts.com/pioneer_index.htm), 8 January for 10 days, Pioneer is an age-55 Community with every conceivable facility. It's exceptionally neat and clean. Most of the residents are long term, yet they have adequate space for transients. The pull-through area is rather austere, without even picnic tables.

Brenda AZ – Desert Gold RV Resort (www.grapevine7.com/index.htm), 18 January for four weeks, With over 500 sites, Desert Gold is the biggest RV park we've stayed in so far. It is neat and clean, with paved roads and good sized lots with patios. Their club house has every conceivable amenity, even a post office. Most of the residents are seasonal and some stay all year (up to an average monthly temperature of 110F/42C...yikes).

Yuma AZ – Arizona Sands RV Park (www.arizonasandsrvpark.com), 15 February for one week. This is a typical Arizona RV Park, with gravel streets, paved patio slabs and room to park both the RV and a car. It is a blend of seasonal and transients, mostly seasonal. They supplied by far the most complete welcome packet of any RV park so far. It contained everything any visitor would need to know about the park, the city and the state. This is the first RV park with so many Canadians, most coming from Saskatchewan, Alberta and British Columbia.

Boulevard CA – Sacred Rocks RV Park (click here), 22 February. The RV park is in a remote area in the mountains. The highway in is narrow and twisty, the access road is horrible, and the interior roads are unpaved. But, the park is billed as a rustic retreat...it really is quite nice, with treed lots, hiking trails and total quiet except for the blue birds, crows and ATVs.

San Diego CA – Mission Bay RV Resort (www.missionbayrvresort.com), 23 February for a week (we may stay longer). This is a city-owned RV Resort right on Mission Bay. It does not have much more than a place to park, but it's neat and modern, with all paved roads and sites. The sites are a bit close together.

Barstow CA – Shady Lane RV Camp (no web site), 13 March for two nights. This is a rough little RV park well off the beaten path. It has few services and is unpaved, but the people are friendly and it is inexpensive. It was the first park we've been to where they only take cash.

Needles CA – Desert View RV Resort (www.desertviewrv.com), 15 March for three nights. This is a small but fully-featured RV Park, with gravel streets, paved patio slabs and room to park both the RV and a car. They lead you to your site and register right on the spot...no waiting in a reception area. On the other hand, they only take cash.

Williams NM – Canyon Gateway RV Park (URL here), 18 March for three nights. This RV park is close to the Grand Canyon, otherwise it has no noteworthy services. One thing that makes it interesting is that it is surfaced entirely in ground volcanic cinder.

Sun Valley – Root-66 RV Park (no web site), 21 March for two nights. This is a noisy little nothing RV park. We only stayed here because it was close to the Petrified Forest Park, an attraction we wanted to see. While it has no services, it's cheap...$14.50 per night, and the highway noise died away after about 11 PM.

Albuquerque NM – Enchanted Trails RV Park & Trading Post (www.enchantedtrails.com), 23 March for one week. On Route-66, this park has the nicest lobby, no doubt due to it being a secondary business as a trading post. The local Indians come here to buy wool blankets made in India...go figure. The park is unpaved, but otherwise is quite nice, with full amenities. Although it has a full clubhouse, with reading and meeting rooms, there are no organized activities, as most guests are itinerant. There are two restored Hudson cars with period camper trailers on display, reminding us of the humble roots of Rving.

Amarillo TX – Amarillo Ranch RV Park, 30 March for two days. This is a nice, quiet park with complete facilities, including a club house, indoor pool, Jacuzzi and sauna.

Elk City OK – Elk Run RV Park (no web site), 1 April for 2 nights. This is a passable RV park that clearly needs some TLC. But it was quiet, being shielded from the highway traffic by a big truck stop.

Oklahoma City OK – Council Road RV Park (www.councilrdrvpark.com), 3 April for 11 nights. For a Park at the side of an access road to a busy highway it was amazingly quiet. The people that run it are nice and the facilities are good.

Grove OK – Cedar Oaks RV Resort (www.cedaroaksrv.com), 14 April for 1 night. This is a lovely full service camp ground on the shore of Grand Lake. Had we the time, we would have stayed longer here. The people that run the camp ground were very friendly and accommodating.

Richland MO – Gasconade Hills RV Campground (URL here), 15 April for 1 night. This is a lovely, small camp-ground beside The Gasconade River. They specialize in river rafting and camping. It's a bit hard to get to, being over a mile up a very narrow and twisty road; fortunately, it's paved. This would be another great spot to get away from it all.

Effingham IL – Camp Lakewood (URL here), 16 April for one night. This nice little RV camp is on the shore of Lake Pauline. It has lovely wooded lots and is very well cared for. It's hard to tell that the big city and WalMart Superstore are just up the road.

Huntington IN – Timberlake (URL here), 17 Apr for one night. This is a remote RV camp on the shores of Timber Lake. It is scenic, but a bit rustic, even though they have full services. Some of the pads are not level.

Emmett MI – Emmett KOA (URL here), 18 Apr for one night. A really nice campground with wooded lots, a lake with swimming and activities for children and mini-putt golf.

Milton ON – Milton Heights (URL here), 19 Apr for one night. This is an older campground, but well cared for. The sites are rather tight, because of the trees and being close together. There are lots of shops in the area.

Kingston ON – Rideau Acres Camping Resort (URL here), 20 to 29 Apr. This is a huge campground, with space for RV rallies. It is scenic with treed lots, except for the new areas. It has a club house and other facilities for long-term campers. The wi-fi internet is not very good.

Ottawa ON – Recreationland Tent & Trailer Park (www.rec-land.com), 30 Apr to date. Being well off the old Montreal Road, this is a nice quiet campground with good views of the Gatineau Hills. It has full services, including a few sites with 50-amp power, unusual in Canada. The wi-fi is excellent, although it goes out now and again. Towards the end of summer the water, which comes from wells, got a little punky tasting.

Mattawa ON – 1 September for 1 night, Sid Turcotte Park. This is a lovely little RV park right in Mattawa, situated beside the Mattawa River, near its confluence with the Ottawa River. It is very quiet and secluded.

Sault Ste. Marie – 2 September for 1 night, Wal*Mart. This was our first Wal*Mart, and not a very good one. It was right across from a busy truck stop. There was lots of noise all night.

Wawa ON – 3 September for 1 night, Wawa RV Resort. This is another great stop, along the shore of a little river. There are lots of trails and wooded areas to explore.

Thunder Bay ON – 4 September for 1 night , Wal*Mart...no problems.

Kenora ON – 5 September for 1 night, Wal*Mart. We tried to get into one of the local camp-grounds, but they were all full for the Labour Day weekend. Unfortunately the Wal*Mart was posted “no overnight parking”. It was too late to go any further, so we called the police and explained our plight. They could not have been more accommodating.

Winnipeg MB – 6 September for 8 days, Traveller's RV Resort. This is a huge RV park on the south-east edge of town. It was loaded with mosquitoes and is a bit barren in spots. But, it is the best Winnipeg has to offer for big rigs. We were disappointed to find that it had no Wi-fi or other Internet.

Yorkton SK – 14 September for 1 night, Wal*Mart. A good, quiet spot.

Prince Albert SK – 15 September for one week, in Corey's back yard. It was just large enough to take our RV and still leave room for other vehicles to come and go.

Wainwright AB – 21 September for one night, Wal*Mart. It is at a busy intersection, but, mercifully, the big trucks stopped running after about 11 pm.

Edmonton AB – 22 September for 5 nights, Glowing Embers RV Park. This is a nice RV park with lots of trees. The big rig sites are newer and in the open.

Airdrie (Calgary) AB – 27 September for 3 nights Fraserway RV. This is not an RV park at all, but a service centre. They have a few spots for customers to park overnight with electricity.

Cochrane AB – 30 September for 1 night, Spring Hill RV Park. This is a well maintained RV park on the bald prairie west of Calgary. A few spruce trees break up the expanse. There is a full service shell station on the property, which was handy for us, as we needed both propane and diesel.

Revelstoke BC – 1 October for 1 night, dry camping on a private lot, as the camp-ground we were planning on staying at was closed for the season.

Kelowna BC – 2 October for 4 nights, Holiday Park Resort (URLhere). This is an up-scale, condo RV resort north of Kelowna, not cheap but it has all services. Many of the residents stay here for the summer, then move south for the winter. Oddly, others, from colder parts of Canada, move into the vacated spaces for the winter.

Surrey (Vancouver) BC – 6 October to present, Pacific Border RV Park (pacificborderrvpark.com). A relatively new park, it has all needed services for year-round living. Some of the lots are rather small and it is remote from shopping; on the other hand, it is clean, safe and quiet. We considered the Capilano park, under the Lion's Gate Bridge; it looked good and was surprisingly quiet, but they do not allow pets. Like many parks in BC, some people leave for the winter, while others come in.

Marysville WA, 27 November, at the WalMart 'camp ground'. As usual, WalMart was very welcoming. We reciprocated by buying a lot of stuff, especially fresh food, as we crossed over to the USA with none.

Auburn WA, from 28 November to 4 December. Here we stayed aboard our broken RV in the Collision Center yard, with only a 20-amp electrical connection and no sewer.

Aldergrove BC, 19 April – 30 May, Eagle Wind RV Park (eaglewindrv.ca), new and nice, but a bit noisy, as it is along side the Trans-Canada highway; we had a spot at the far end, which was reasonably quiet. Good management.

Boston Bar BC, 2 June, Canyon Alpine RV Park, an older, small park with large lots and mature trees. It's handy to Hell's Gate. The Wi-Fi works well...when it works.

Cache Creek BC, 3 June, Brookside Campsite, an established park by a creek, with walking trails. Excellent Wi-Fi.

Williams Lake BC, 4 June, Wildwood Campsite, a small, rustic RV park in a quiet neighbourhood. Some of the lots are small and hard to get into, while others are huge.

Quesnel BC, 5 June, WalMart.

Prince George BC, 6 to 9 June, Southpark RV Park. This is an older RV park, with nicely treed sites, and in good condition. It has a nice trail to hike and walk the dog off-leash.

Chetwynd BC, Caron Creek RV Park, 10 June. This RV Park is little more than an open field with several hundred sites. There are lots of places to hike nearby.

Dawson Creek BC, 11 to 17 June, Northern Lights RV park. A big, mostly gravel RV park with many sites. This is a staging point for many caravans. Our caravan officially started here.

Fort Nelson BC, 18 June, Bluebell Inn and Campground. A mediocre RV park with narrow sites, behind a gas station and a hotel.

Muncho Lake BC, 19 June, Northern Rockies Lodge and Campground. A nice spot, with a lodge and cabins for rent. It is also a float plane base. The sites are quite close together.

Watson Lake YK, 20 June, Baby Nugget RV Park. Another big gravel field, but with lots of space to walk the dog. It has a lodge and gift shop.

Whitehorse YK, 21 to 23 June, Pioneer RV Park. Yet another cheek-by jowl RV park, and another staging point for caravans. It has good facilities, though.

Pelly Crossing YK, 24 June, Pelly Crossing Camp-ground. This is a minimalist RV park in a grassy field, with gravel roads. We dry camped.

Dawson City YK, 25 June for two days, Goldrush Campground. Right in the heart of town, close to all the main attractions. On the other hand, the campground is little more than a gravel parking lot with hookups.

Chicken AK, 27 June, Chicken Creek RV Park. Just outside of beautiful down town Chicken, the RV park property includes historic Old Chicken. The RV park is a serviced gravel pit with erratic power and a nice gift shop.

Tok AK, 28 June, Tok RV Village. This is a full service RV park where everything works. They have a clubhouse and even weekly entertainment by a local singer/songwriter.

Valdez AK, 29 June for three days, Bear Paw Campground. This is a huge campground, divided into an adult portion and a general portion. The adult portion is right on the water, with clear view of the marina and/or a commercial dock. Full service and everything works.

Mendeltna AK, 3 July, Mendeltna Creek Lodge. This is the sort of place one might just drive by, but should not. It is a historic lodge, built in 1947, with an RV park behind. The RV park is Spartan, but the lodge has great ambience and good food.

Anchorage AK, 4 July for three nights, Golden Nugget Campground. This is a large and expensive full-service campground. Everything works, except the Wi-Fi, which varies from good to nothing at all. It is a major staging point for RV caravans and also has a small resident population, mostly in older trailers.

Seward AK, 7 July for two nights, City of Seward Campground. This is a gravel parking lot with a view, water and electricity, but no sewer hookup. There are no facilities other than a shower house.

Homer AK, 9 July for two nights, Heritage Campground. This is a full service campground right on the Homer spit, which is a huge sand bar full of tourist attractions.

Kenai AK, 11 July, Beluga Lookout RV Park. This is a full service campground overlooking Cook inlet. It would be wonderful, unfortunately it has the smallest sites we've ever seen; ours was so narrow that we could not open both our living-room slide-outs.

Palmer AK, 12 July for two nights, Heritage RV Park. This is a beautiful old RV park with wide, treed lots. It has everything, except sewer hookups on the sites.

Denali AK, 14 July for two nights, Denali RV Park. This is a good RV park with full services. It has one of the best wi-fi systems that we've used in Alaska.

Fairbanks AK, 17 July for four nights, River's Edge RV Park. This should have been a good RV park; it's established and has all the amenities. However drainage on some of the sites is abysmal (our site became a pond during hard rain) and the wi-fi did not work. Worse, it is staffed by youngsters who do not seem to be able to deal with the issues.

Skagway AK, 23 July for three nights, Pullen Creek RV Park. This is a water and electric only park, with a dump station, right in historic Skagway. The sites are roomy.

Whitehorse YK, 26 July, Pioneer RV Park (full service, reviewed in previous report).

Watson Lake YK, 27 July, Baby Nugget RV Park (water & electric, reviewed in previous report).

Iskut BC, 28 July for two nights, Mountain Shadow RV Park. This is a newish park with electric and water only. The sites are level gravel and roomy. Free wi-fi (a bit slow but it works).

Stewart BC, 30 for two nights, Bear River Campground. Full service campground that would been good, but for the bugs.

Smithers BC, 1 August, Riverside Golf Club & RV Park. Free wi-fi, which works well if one is near the club house. Nicely treed lots with level gravel pads. It can be a bit tight when full, as they put two RVs per site.

Prince George BC, 2 August for three nights, Southpark RV park. An older full service park with excellent hosts; no matter what need one has from RV repairs to dog grooming, they seem to be able to find what one needs.

Hinton AB, 5 August, Walmart. This Walmart was loaded with RVs, perhaps because it was the peak of the holiday season and the local RV parks were packed.

Edmonton AB, 6 August for one week. First we tried Shakers Acres, but found their electric power to be unsatisfactory. We ended up at Whitemud Golf Course & RV park; they charge premium prices but have no cable TV or Wi-Fi. Otherwise, the park was nice, with long, wide lots.

Prince Albert SK, 13 to 16 August, we stayed in LA's brother Corey's driveway, nicely levelled (better than many RV parks).

Yorkton SK, 17 August, Walmart. This is a Super Walmart, good for shopping.

Winnipeg MB, 18 August, Walmart, Winnipeg East.

Kenora ON, 19 August, Anicinabe RV Park. This is a lovely RV park with full services, by a lake.

Thunder Bay, ON 20 August, Walmart.

Wawa ON, 21 August, Wawa RV Resort. This is a very nice resort with a river, trails and lots of trees.

Sault Ste Marie ON, 22 August, Walmart. This is a good quiet spot.

Sudbury ON, 23 August, Walmart. This is a very noisy place.

Cookstown ON, 24 to 25 August, Nicholston Dam RV park. This is a lovely park with grass sites, but without on-site sewer connections.

Peterborough ON, 26 August, Walmart. This Walmart is posted “no overnight parking”. However we enquired and were told that we could stay if we were quiet and stayed on the side of the parking lot near the road. It was remarkably quiet.

South Gloucester (Ottawa) ON, 27 August onward, Hither Hills RV Park. This is a good park with full services, including a few 50-amp sites, one of which we managed to snag.

Mexico NY, 18 October for two days, J & J Campground. J&J is a nicely treed RV park well off the busy highways. This is a former KOA, so it has everything an RV park should have.

Dickson City PA, 20 October, WalMart Super Centre. This is a quiet Walmart, even though it is open 24-hours a day.

Abingdon MD, 21 October for two nights, Bar Harbor RV Park. This lovely RV park is right at the head of the Chesapeake Bay. Our site was nose-in, right on the water, fabulous.

Doswell VA, 23 October for two nights, King's Dominion Campground. This campground is intended to serve the nearby King's Dominion theme park. But, it is a lovely campground in its own right. It has full service on nicely spaced and treed lots.

Four Oaks NC, 25 October, Four Oaks RV Resort. Hardly a 'resort', this is a bit of a dog patch, with mostly old trailers permanently ensconced. The lots for itinerant RVs are long pull-throughs on grass and packed dirt. While far from scenic, everything works.

North Myrtle Beach SC, 26 October to 24 January, Briarcliffe RV Resort. This resort is owned by its members, who are mostly RV owners, so it is beautifully set up, with level concrete pads and all services, including a large clubhouse with regular activities. It is not right on the beach, however this makes it somewhat more affordable. The wi-fi works well but is extremely expensive.

Conway SC, 25 Jan for two nights. We stayed at Cummins Power, to have repairs done.

Hollywood (Charleston) SC, 27 Jan for a week, Lake Aire RV Park. Great park built around a little lake, but foul tasting water.

Savannah GA, 3 Feb for a week, Savannah Oaks RV park. Nice RV park beside a river.

Palatka FL, 10 Feb for three nights. The Boy's Ranch, for the Florida Winter Samboree. This RV park has water and electric, but is only used by rallies and caravans.

Orange City FL, 13 Feb to 7 Mar, Orange City RV Resort. A large and varied RV park with a mix of permanent and itinerant sites.

Orlando FL, 8 to 14 Mar, Orlando Fairgrounds. The fairgrounds has water and electric, and is used mostly for rallies.

Lake Wales FL, 14 Mar to 19 Apr, Bryan's Collision and RV Repairs. Bryan's has full hookups and Internet for customers adjacent to their shop.

Lake City FL, 20 Apr, Inn and Out RV Park. Surprisingly good for an RV park behind a gas station alongside the highway.

Robertsdale AL, 21 Apr, Azalea Acres RV Park. Another nice RV park with walking trails, well off the highway.

Clinton MS, 22 Apr, Spring Ridge RV Park. Full services in a paved yard, surrounded by park models. Good for an overnight.

Gladewater TX, 23 Apr, Shallow Creek RV Park. A nice park with all services and propane fill. The people were very friendly.

McKinney TX, 24 to 28 Apr, MCD Industries. MCD makes and installs RV and other roller shades. They have electric-only hook up for customers.

McAllester OK, 29 Apr, Valley Inn Motel & RV Park. An RV park behind a motel. A bit rustic, but the buildings shield the RV Park sites from the highway. Unfortunately, it is close enough to the main line for the train noise to be objectionable. Still, it was good enough for an overnight stay.

Ft. Scott KS, 30 Apr, WalMart. Yet another WalMart.

Ankeny IA, 1 May, WalMart. Ditto

Forest City IA, 2 May, Winnebago Industries. Winnebago has electric-only hookups for customers or for owners just passing through.

West Liberty IA, 3 May, West Liberty Campground. Not bad for an RV park behind a truck stop. Full hook ups on grass sites. There is a row of park models there, but we could not figure out why anyone would want to live there...must be economics, as there is nothing much around.

Michigan City IA, 4 May, Michigan City Campground. A nice full service campground with a newer area alongside the highway for itinerants. Still, it was a decent RV park, as the traffic was light at night.

Toledo OH, 5 May, WalMart.

Conneaut OH, 6 May, Evergreen Lake Park. A big park, mostly seasonal occupants, but with a few sites for itinerants. It has everything.

Rochester NY, 7 May, Yet another WalMart

Greely ON, 8 May to 8 June, Camp Hither Hills. One of the few RV Parks near Ottawa with 50-amp service. A reasonably priced place but with few services on the premises. Full of mosquitoes.

Martintown ON, 9 to 13 June, Michelle & Simon's driveway. 15-amp electric hook-up only. Friendly people (ha, ha...our daughter and son-in-law and grandson).

Drummondville PQ, 14 June, WalMart. Lots of trucks and rather noisy.

Edmondston NB, 15 June, Walmart. Ditto.

Charlo NB, 16 to 18 June, Blue Heron Campground. A large fully serviced RV park owned by the town, but run by a nice couple. Only 30-amps electricity. Good water. It has swimming pools, a 9-hole golf course, walking trails and a beautiful view of the Bay...when it is not raining. It is a short walk to the beach. This would be a good place to spend time in the summer for a young family.

Miramichi NB, 22 June, WalMart. This is a quiet place to stay.

Fredericton NB, 23 June, Two Nations X-ing WalMart. Noisy with cars tearing into and out of the parking lot. An ATV did a late night circle around us whooping it up.

St. Andrews NB, 24 to 29 June, Kiwanis Ocean Front Campground. This is a nice campground, with all the amenities. It is walking distance from the historical district.

Saint John NB, 30 June to 1 July, Rockwood Park. A good, full-service campground near walking trails.

Moncton NB, 2 to 3 July, Camper's City RV Park. Another nice campground; big with a dog run and a good play area for children. The sites are a bit close together.

Hammond's Plains (Halifax) NS, 4 to 7 July, Woodhaven RV Park. This is a terrific RV park, apart from the dusty roads. It is nicely wooded with several walking trails. The owners were very accommodating and took care of Molly while we were away; they would not accept any remuneration.

Little Bras D'Or (Sydney) NS, 8 to 11 July, Arm of Gold Campground. Yet another terrific place, with nice owners and mowed walking trails along the river.

Doles NL, 12 to 14 July, Grand Codroy RV Camping. Full hookups, free Wi-Fi, Entertainment, Quiet, large lots, friendly owners.

Rocky Harbour NL, 15-16 July, Gros Morne/Norris Pt. KOA. Full hookups, walking trails, friendly owners.

St. Anthony NL, 17 to 20 July, Triple Falls RV Park. Quiet, water and electric only. Friendly campground. Some lots not very level.

Port Aux Choix NL, 21 July, Oceanside RV Park. Electric and water only. Very windy and cold. Great views.

Deer Lake NL, 22 July, Gateway to the North RV Park. Quiet, full hookup, nice park.

Gander NL, 23 to 26 July, Country Inn Trailer Park. Full hookups, mostly nicely wooded sites, quiet.

Bonavista NL, 27-28 July, Paradise Farm Trailer Park. Water and electric. Oddball place...kind of a farm with RV sites, quiet.

St. John's NL, 29 July to 1 Aug, Pippy Park Campground. Full service, good wi-fi, lots of walking trails, quiet. Great place.

Grand Falls-Windor NL, 2 Aug, Walmart. Noisy. Posted No RVs or Trucks, but no problem if you ask and park on the unpaved bit between Sobeys (all night outdoor elevator music) and Walmart.

Corner Brook NL, 3 Aug, Walmart. Posted No RVs or Trucks, but no problem if you ask.

Sydney NS, 4 August, Arm of Gold Campground. We reported on this nice campground in the previous missive.

Debert NS, 5 August, Elm River Park Campground. This is mostly an open field with RV services on grass sites.

Brackley Beach PEI, 6 to 10 August, Vacationland Campground. This is a very high density and large campground with full services. The sites are mostly grass. It seems to be a favourite of locals for summer family camping for reasons we cannot fathom.

Moncton NB, 11 August, Dieppe WalMart. This was a noisy stop.

Fredericton NB, 12 August, Fredericton South WalMart. Large, level and quiet.

Grand Falls NB, 13 August, WalMart. Very quiet.

Trois Rivieres PQ, 14 August, WalMart. This WalMart is in a large mall, nevertheless it was quiet.

Milton ON, 27 Oct. for one week, Milton Heights Campground (LinkHere). This is a large full service campground open all year. It has lots of open spaces and roomy lots.

Munroe MI, 3 Nov., Sterling State Park Campground, Sterling State Park (LinkHere). This State Park has few trees but is right on the shore of Lake Erie. It has large sites with full hook-ups including 50-amp power.

Michigan City IN, 4 & 5 Nov., Michigan City Campground (LinkHere). This is a nice park with all services, including a propane station. Friendly staff.

Cassville WI, 6 & 7 Nov., Whitetail Bluff Camp and Resort (LinkHere). A bit out of the way but nice facilities and friendly staff. Walking trail to the Mississippi escarpment.

Hannibal MO, 8 to 10 Nov., Injun Joe Campground (LinkHere). At first glance a bit of a Dog Patch, as it is rather old. But once on site one realises that this place has everything, especially for kids. There are nice bush trails and all kinds of activity facilities. It can be a bit noisy if you take a site near the highway, but there are plenty of lovely sites in the bush. There is an on site restaurant, that we did not patronise.

Cahokia IL (St. Louis MO area), 11 to present, Cahokia RV Parque (LinkHere). A full service all-season campground with a decent but simple on-site restaurant. Friendly staff. It is a bit noisy on sites near the highway, but there is little traffic overnight. Although it is on the east side of the river, it is handy to the major St. Louis tourist attractions. As campers we got a 10% discount at the restaurant...woo hoo!
